This old English folklore comes to life for children in a beautiful, contemporary way in the Playhouse Jr. production of Robin Hood.

Not all that glitters is glitter.

For young Nancy, ‘fancy’ may not even be a strong enough word. Bedecked in boas, sparkles and glam, she opines that her family is too plain, and gives them a master class in posh-ness. In the course of more than 70 books, Nancy always gets caught up in the glitter, but ends up learning what’s really important. A gem for all children.

Avenue Q (Costume Designer)

Avenue Q

Part flesh, part felt and packed with heart, AVENUE Q is still the funniest and freshest show in New York City! This laugh-out-loud musical tells the timeless story of a bright-eyed college grad named Princeton. When he arrives in the city with big dreams and a tiny bank account, he has to move into a shabby apartment all the way out on AVENUE Q. Still, the neighbors seem nice. There, he meets Kate (the girl next door), Lucy (the slut), Rod (the Republican), Trekkie (the pervert), superintendent Gary Coleman (yes, that Gary Coleman) and other new friends! Together, they struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.

Avenue Q is appropriate for immature, but adult audiences.

THE DOUBLE-THREAT TRIO

Adam Overett (Book, Music & Lyrics)
Directed by Scott Weinstein
Music Direction by Matt Castle

Workshop Presentation
Saturday, April 7, 12:30pm | 937 Liberty Avenue, 1st Floor
Sunday, April 8, 12:30pm | 937 Liberty Avenue, 1st Floor

An actor who can't dance, a dancer who can't sing and a singer who can't act are all struggling to become the stars they long to be. They join forces with Millicent Masterson, an eccentric writer-director-producer-designer-choreographer-stage manager who has been waiting to vault her once-storied career back onto Broadway. Millicent creates a new show that will highlight the cast’s talents while hiding their flaws. But as the actors rehearse “Oed!” Millicent’s three-character musical adaptation of Oedipus Rex, they begin to fear that their big break might actually be a big disaster.

THE DOUBLE-THREAT TRIO is underwritten by The Benter Foundation.

Titanic: the Misical (Costume Designer)

Titanic

The sinking of the Titanic in the early hours of April 15, 1912, remains the quintessential disaster of the twentieth century. A total of 1,517 souls - men, women and children - lost their lives (only 711 survived). The fact that the finest, largest, strongest ship in the world-called, in fact, the "unsinkable" ship - should have been lost during its maiden voyage is so incredible that, had it not actually happened, no author would have dared to contrive it.

The musical play TITANIC examines the causes, the conditions and the characters involved in this ever-fascinating drama. This is the factual story of that ship - of her officers, crew and passengers, to be sure - but she will not, as has happened so many times before, serve as merely the background against which fictional, melodramatic narratives are recounted. The central character of our TITANIC is the Titanic herself.

Titanic is a special presentation by the teens of the Richard E. Rauh Conservatory, backed by a professional Orchestra, and fully produced by the professional artists of Pittsburgh Musical Theater.
